NSS
NSS stands for National Service Scheme. The motto, the watch word of NSS is ‘Not me But you’. This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. Our school has been in the forefront of NSS activities throughout. The NSS unit has a strength of 100 volunteers. The impetus is to give the students best educational experience in order to make them responsible and productive citizen of the country.
Student Police Cadet (SPC)
The STUDENT POLICE CADET(SPC) Project is a school-based youth development initiative that trains high school students to evolve as future leaders of a democratic society by inculcating within them respect for the law, discipline, civic sense, empathy for vulnerable sections of society and resistance to social evils.
The selection of cadets is done from the 8th standard after a written test followed by a physical test. A group of 22 boys and 22 girls will be selected finally. Weekly classes are given to the selected cadets to ensure their all-round development
Coaching Centre for Competitive Examination
Coaching classes for medical and engineering entrance examinations are conducted for senior secondary students, who stay in hostels on demand. Coaching for NTSE: Interested and talented students of class 10 are provided with coaching for NTSE, National Talent Search Examination, on a regular basis. Coaching classes are conducted in off-school hours.
Selected students of all grades are given intensive coaching for examinations such as MTSE, Mathematics Talent Search Examination, organised by Ganitha Shastra Parishad, ELPSE, and MTSE, organised by Trissur Sahodaya.
Scouts and Guides
Scouting and Guiding is an approved type of character training & preparation for good citizenship designed for the benefit of boys and girls, which insists a sense of responsibility and trustworthiness affords to be individual opportunities for developing initiative and leadership and promotes self-control, self-reliance and self-direction. Our school has well-organised Scouts and Guides Units registered under Chavakkad District.
Civil Service Coaching
The school has an academy for Civil Service aspirants to render quality training for competitive examinations for students of secondary and senior secondary classes. Admission to this centre is based on the interest of the parents and the aptitude of the students. Aptitude test is usually conducted in the beginning of class 9. Classes are scheduled on Sundays and Public Holidays. Experienced faculties are outsourced to provide the best learning experience for our students.
NIOS
NIOS is an “Open School” to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. It was started as a project with in-built flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1979. In 1986, the National Policy on Education suggested strengthening of Open School System for extending open learning facilities in a phased manner at secondary level all over the country as an independent system with its own curriculum and examination leading to certification.
